cdn$849 = US$667. This was a custom build but I would love to build another! Basic 30W amp with a pair of 6L6's in the output stage. Volume Tone Presence Depth. From the customer who ordered it: "I thought you would be please to know that your amp (the Blackwater) just beat out a 1983 HIWATT DR103 in an amp shootout" With the tone control dimed, it is a clean, neutral, power amp.
Signal path would similar to a Fender Twin ie Gain Stage>Tonestack+Volume>Gain Stage>PI>outputput stage. However, the tone knob changes things quite a bit. With the tonestack at minimum, the amp is where a Fender Twin/Blackface would be with it's tonestack controls at about 1 o'clock. As you bring up the tone control, the tonestack gets progressively more bypassed, bringing the gain up and slowly eliminating the scooped mids. This is very useful for a PEDAL PLATFORM.
This is a lifetime amp, and is loud enough and soft enough for almost application.
2 x 6L6, 2 x 12AX7. Presence and depth offer some more flexibility (Depth does to the low end what presence does to the high end)
8 and 16 ohm speaker connections.
I doubt ANYONE has built more guitar amps than I have. Nor has anyone built the VARIETY I have.
